APT/ART #2: MAKE CARNIVAL NOT WAR

Bakhtin’s carnival is not only an impediment to revolutionary change; it is revolution itself. Carnival must not be confused with mere holiday or, least of all, with self-serving festivals fostered by governments, secular or theocratic. The sanction for carnival derives ultimately not from a calendar prescribed by church or state, but from a force that preexists priests and kings and to whose superior power they are actually deferring when they appear to be licensing carnival.

The second APT ART exhibition explores the relationships between Carnivaland War.

The world is moving so fast these days and catastrophically. For this reason, we felt that the classic form, which fixes art objects in a given space, would have missed the mark.

A dialogue exhibition, a work in progress that should stretch over several months, this exhibition is intended to be a tool for collective discussion.
