Our “fight” is about the need for structural reform BEYOND the good Saint-Simonian policy of taxing inherited wealth and progressive taxation of income and wealth. We focus on the need for a debt writedown, and also distinguish between taxing earned income and unearned economic rent – the 19th-century classical aim of value, price and rent theory as a guide to tax policy. As an extension of this theory, we emphasize the need to de-privatize natural monopolies, returning them to the public domain so as to provide basic needs at subsidized prices.

How fantastic it would be if someone would take on Michel Foucault!
And, of course, Jared Diamond and Frances Fukuyama.
