This is our long-awaited reading group on David Graeber’s favorite Mikhail Bakhtin’s Rabelais and His World.
We will discuss:
introduction: pp.1-12;
on collectivity and the body: pp. 18-23;
on the grotesque and the mask: pp. 39-40.
Since the meeting will be held on October 31st, which is Halloween, we invite everyone to dress up for the occasion and to Zoom in from in-person parties.
These meetings are limited in number. The group is meeting 12 times during 2024/25, on the last Thursday of each month.
