Just started a discussion on how to make a school workbook “What’s Job?”, with a catalog of Bullshits and Care Jobs, and free space for kids’ comments. This was then I got an email from a teacher up in Manchester Steve Russell who is already teaching it.
The notebook will have 4 parts:
- Bullshits Jobs
- Jobs related to care and reproduction of life
- and… we will talk about the working conditions of the people — who are they now and who do kids think they should be.
- A world without work: is it possible?
It’s worth telling the high school students about all that is awaiting them outside of the doors of the schools when they will be awaited by the serious adults, who referred to them as a “workforce.”
