Based on the history of piracy, we will identify the reasons why this bottom-up approach has not been welcomed and what could be done in the future to foster such approach.

Professor Rediker is a historian, writer, activist and Distinguished Professor of Atlantic History at the University of Pittsburgh. Based on the history of piracy and on the concept of history from below, he launched our event series and paved the way to look at the past as well as at the future through different angles.
